TURN ME OFF
Is your house glowing day and night? Do you have lights, fans, TVs, computers, and other electrical gadgets turned on in rooms at home or the office when no one is around? Save some money and conserve energy by turning off those electrical items, especially during any triple digit summer temperature. Those extra items multiplied by nearly 350 million Americans are putting unnecessary pressure on the electric grid; instead, turn them off, and use those dollars for something fun like a new pair of binoculars or a bird bath. Migratory birds flying at night often head towards lights, especially during inclement weather, and can become disoriented and killed if they hit windows, towers with guy-wires, buildings, or other structures. If you’re not using it, turn it off day and night. Do it for the owls!
